!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ranking the 25 best pizza chains in the U.S. made me shake my head again and again. First off, good pizza typically doesn't come from a chain to begin with, so what's the point in ranking chains? But the worst part is that Little Caesers (#8), Pizza Hut (#4), and even freaking Domino's (#2) all made the top 10. Whoever is ranking these either has no taste buds or has been smoking a lot of the reefer.

Bahahaha. That's a hilarious article. I have been to way too many of these pizza chains, and almost none of them are very good. Godfathers???

This is not the best pizza, but the 'best fast food pizza' as defined by the number of obese Americans ordering from these chains. Last night while I installed the doors on my Jeep (20-25 min), I saw the Domino's guy twice and the pizza hut guy once. Then I went inside and made my own pizza from scratch. Amateurs.

I'd say definitely reefer.
Where have all the lightweights gone?

I'm going to say putting back a lot of booze, not the reefer.
The only ones that I've been to and are worth going back to are #'s 16, 15, and 10.
16) I have a lot of fond memories when Shakey's had MANY more locations across the country. Their pizza was great, and their potato slices at the buffet were delicious. I'm going to California this summer, and I can't wait to see if it still stacks up.
15) Monical's was a place I discovered by accident with my family. They make a good, solid (not great) pizza for a reasonable price. I can't think of many other places where a family of 4 can eat for $20 and get a decent meal.
10) I love Papa Murphy's concept. I like the idea of picking up a pre-made, fresh pizza, and popping it in my own oven. It was a good pizza and their costs stay relatively low. Their cheesy bread is also fantastic.

The best pizza doesn't come from chains but because chains are global the article can have a large audience. I have no problem with it and Domino's isn't too bad but you are right #2 might be too high. I do agree with their top choice though California Pizza Kitchen is awesome.

Pizza Hut is absolutely terrible. Really awful pizza. I would rather not eat pizza than eat Pizza Hut. Anyone who's ever had any real, good pizza like that in New York should understand this. Their pizza has bad dough, bad cheese, and almost no sauce to be spoken of.

Used to love pizza hut as a kid, then they all closed. Later, when I moved, there was a pizza hut near my work, I ordered some chicken from there, it arrived raw. literally, raw, uncooked chicken coated in bbq sauce. I called and complained and the MOST they were willing to do for me was bring me a properly cooked order, not even a refund. Because of that, I will NEVER touch anything that comes from Pizza hut or its affiliates ever again.

There are no good pizza chains. Local eateries are the way to go.

I like dominos, actually it is one of my favorite, right behind boston pizza which is slowly making its way across the us. Papa Johns needs to be higher than pizza hut... Scratch that, pizza hut needs to be forgotten.

These are all national chains, or at least very large regionals.
By the way, nothing will ever top Marion's in Dayton/SW Ohio. Cash only, alcohol, looks like the type of place you'd run into Sammy the turtle and Little Vinny Vincenzo.

We get Papa John's from time to time. But if we get the chance, we go to a local place called Turoni's and get an Iron Man pizza. Mushrooms, spinach, artichoke hearts, and garlic, and we usually order it with extra garlic. So. Damn. Delicious!

Here are my pics of some of my favorite pizza joints in San Diego.
URBN - Margherita pizza with fried eggplant
Filippi's (small local chain) - white pizza with meatballs...the cheesiest pizza around.
The Foundry (unfortunately it has closed) - Chicken, Artichoke & Basil

I used to love this place in MA called Marcello's. The pizza had this perfect taste/texture combo. I miss it. The North (no offense to the South) really knew how to make good pizza.

If I have to use a chain pizza joint, this is the order: Pizza Inn, Pizza Hut, Dominos. And Dominos is iffy. Little Caesers and CiCi's aren't really pizza to start with, so they don't count.

Jagvar, if you're around Arlington, go to Puputella on Wilson Blvd. Their pizza is MONEY. Great arancini too! Plus they make their own donuts. Wins all around!

I used to live in Arlington (now reside in Tysons), but never went to Puputella. I'll remember to try it! Good pizza is hard to find in Virginia, but I do like The Italian Store and Luciano's.

Never tried either of them, but Puputella is supposedly the best pizza in Arlington, and I tend to agree. At least so far! If you're around and wanna go, let me know!

Best pizza chain I know of, or pizza parlors for that matter, are Cottage Inn, around Ann Arbor. Haven't been there in 15 years, but of all the places I've been, they rank the top. Wish they had them here in Ohio. Probably second is Sbarro, or at least it was ten years ago. About 40 minutes from me, there's a place called "Covered Bridge Pizza", which is literally half of a covered bridge that was restored and rebuilt as a pizza shop. The other half is somewhere else in the US, I forget where, but you can see the wooden pegs and all. Pretty interesting place.

Chuck. E. Cheese?! NO ONE EVER GOES THERE FOR THE FOOD.
When you're little, you go for the games. When you're older, you go to a real pizza joint (unless you're dragged there by smallthings, in which case, I can't help you).
Same goes for CiCi's, s/games/poverty and gluttony. Place was tolerable in elementary school, but is mos def nasty now.
Oh, and there is no gott dang way a goofy chain invented the best kind of pizza EVER (Chicago style), nor is there any way they'd perfect it. (Would still probably nom a couple slices, then have a nap, though.)
